At first, the building looked like a fortress.

But then I realized that it wasn’t a fortress, and now that I’m inside it, I can see that it’s clearly not a true fortress.

Normally, fortresses are built with the idea of being attacked from the outside. However, the door of this building is bolted on the outside. And on the outside of the wall, there was a staircase leading up to the top of the wall. That alone is unusual, but what’s even stranger is this structure. When you enter through the first gate, there is another gate, and then another gate, and finally you reach the central building. In other words, the structure is a triple-wall, stone reversed fortress.

I opened the stone door, sensing the oppressive feeling of being surrounded by a colossal wall.

After brushing off the drops of water from my cloak, I entered and found a large room with several people inside.

There was a group of adventurers talking about something, and a few soldiers standing guard at the far end of the room, in front of the stairs leading down.

“Okay, let’s go.” (Adventurer)

The adventurers all moved toward the soldiers in the back of the room, as if they had reached a consensus.

As I looked at them, my eyes were drawn to one of them.

She carried a large bow on her back. Her long, flowing blond hair. Her whole body was covered in leather armor, but her lower half was covered in a short skirt-like shape, a bit showy but still keeping the modesty intact.

And the long, pointed ears peeking out from the long blond hair.

 It’s an elf.

I knew that elves existed in the white place, but this must be the first time I’d seen one.

I was more shocked than I had been when I first saw the beastman race, and she glanced at me.

Her face was as beautifully proportioned as the rumors said. Clear green eyes. I was caught up in this and stared at her for a while.

“One silver coin.” (Soldier)

“Six for all of us.” (Adventurer)

After that exchange, the soldiers cleared the way and the adventurers made their way to the back and down the stairs. And she, too, followed without seeming to care about anything else.

“That is an elf.” (Rook)

What can I say? It might have been exactly what I imagined.

She and her companions. Their equipment and belongings. Their movements, their actions, their behavior. All in all, I’d say that these women were high-ranking adventurers. I don’t know much about them yet, but they’re probably a famous party.

If I keep getting stronger, I might be able to establish a connection with them at some point.

But do they charge an entrance fee for this dungeon?

The beginner’s dungeon in the southern village didn’t have an entrance fee, and the information I saw earlier about this dungeon didn’t say anything about it either.

Well, I guess it depends on the place, and there are things that aren’t written in the materials.

I made a final check of my equipment, paid one silver coin to the soldier, and entered the dungeon myself.

When you go down the stairs, there is a room of about 20 tatami mats in size. In the middle of the room was a large, white stone monument.

It was about two meters high and one meter wide. It was about two meters high, one meter wide, and about thirty centimeters thick.

“Is this the…?” (Rook)

According to the reading materials, this dungeon is equipped with something like a teleportation device called a Transfer Monument on every fifth floor. It seems that you can teleport from the transfer monument on any floor to the transfer monument that you have touched at least once.

I approached the monument and extended my right hand to touch it.

If I didn’t touch the one here, I wouldn’t be able to come back here even if I touched the transfer monument below.

Something flowed from my right hand and then back to the monument.

The sensation is quite similar… to when you touch a grimoire, rather than when you use magic.

However, something about this dungeon is different from the beginner dungeon.

As well as the atmosphere around the dungeon, there’s this transfer monument. There was no such thing as a transfer monument in the beginner’s dungeon. Is that because the beginner dungeon is only five levels underground? Or is it because of the…?

I shook my head and escaped from the sea of thoughts.

Now is not the time to think about things.

I took the map of the first basement floor out of my pocket and checked it.

According to the map, there is a staircase to the second basement floor if you walk straight ahead.

After confirming that much, I walked straight ahead.

After walking a bit, a thought suddenly popped into my head.

The only dungeon I’ve ever been in is the beginner’s dungeon, was a standard dungeon This is the first time I’ve been in a normal dungeon. So, I thought it would be a good idea to check out all the paths while checking out what a normal dungeon was like.

I walked around for a while, thinking about what to do.

Then, a little further on, I heard the sound of someone fighting from the left side of the crossroad.

I walked on and peeked out from the crossroad, and saw an adult and four children who looked younger than me, probably ten to twelve years old. I also saw two slimes.

“Okay, surround them properly. Don’t let them escape.” (Adult)

“Yes!” (Kid)

“Let’s go!” (Kid)

“Come on!” (Adult)

The adult is giving instructions, and children are bashing the slime they surrounded on all sides.

All of them were not wearing any armor. They instead were dressed in cloth garments that were not suitable for a dungeon. However, the children had clubs and swords in their hands and the adult had a sword on their hip.

It seems that they do have weapons.

But on the contrary, for children, it is good enough for this floor, I guess.

“I see.” (Rook)

Seeing them, I put together my thoughts.

I knew I should take the shortest route straight to the stairs. It is not a good idea to interfere with the children’s training by subjugating the shallow floors.
