The next morning I left for school a little earlier than usual and asked Principal Sennett to take a look at the dormitories.

He was stunned, but I didn’t mind and asked him to attend a small dinner party at noon to commemorate the completion of the dormitory, which he graciously agreed to do.

I showed them the textbooks and the sand trays that would serve as notebooks and told them that they would be used from today’s class. I also told them that the guards would be teaching sword, spear, and bow. He looked stunned and mumbled that he didn’t care about it because it was Teacher Louis.

The first period was my class, so I told the students about today’s schedule and handed out textbooks and notebook containers.

I reminded them that from now on, the textbooks and notebook trays must be stored in the back of the classroom, and that they should be handled with care as they would be used by the younger students.

I open the first page of the textbook and read the lesson section to them.

Even if they can’t read it now, I read it to them, hoping that in a month’s time they will be able to read this page.

Today’s lesson was on letter acquisition, so I read simple letters to the students, and I wrote the letters under the pictures and asked each student to read them.

The level of difficulty was designed to increase little by little as the pages progressed, and the letters were set at the level of second grade Japanese elementary school students.

As is typical on the first day, everyone was struggling with the text, and some students even tilted their heads at an angle while looking at the textbook, which made me laugh at the surreal situation.

After passing the text page, it was time to move on to the calculation page, which was designed so that students could learn addition and subtraction from zero to two digits in three months.

The calculation pages contain only the basics, and in class, the students are given a printout and asked to write down the answers in a notebook container.

I made it so that the printouts and notebook trays can be used over and over again, otherwise no matter how much paper there is, it will never be enough, and I will only be able to make it for a month while I am here, so I made it so that I can take care of it afterwards.

After the intense first hour, all the students were out of it.

The second period was on the schoolyard, where two guards were waiting for us as scheduled.

While I was teaching the class, Micah had already met with the two guards, and when they were all present, we began by running and stretching in the school yard.

While the students were running, I asked Micah how the meeting went, and he told me that the stretching was something that the guards did not know about, and if it was effective, he decided to incorporate it into the class.

The two guards decided to use the same style that we, the instructors, had adopted for the swordsmanship class.

I heard that there is an actual guard-style, but since it is used by the Royal Guard of the Kingdom of Ktevr, I wondered if it would be appropriate for the general public to use it. The question was raised at the meeting.

On the other hand, the guards seemed to think that the basic movements of the stances that we, the instructors, came up with were well established, so there would be no problem if we used them as they were. He promised that he would make sure to pass on the instructions to the next guard so that we would be able to use the same style without any changes.

Since there are six hours in a week, we agreed to train for two hours each in swordsmanship, spear arts, and archery training to improve their aptitude and overcome their weaknesses.

The third hour will be a magic lesson, and since both Maggie and I have realized that putting more effort into basic magic circulation training improves magic control, we decided to focus on developing basic skills and control over the next three months, rather than on improving chanting and power.

I explained to her that although there might be some complaints from the students, the school’s philosophy of “training adventurers to survive” would naturally lead us to the answer of improving the basics. I told them that as a teacher, Maggie might receive the most complaints, but she said she would get over it with her mentality and speaking ability. I sincerely hope that more adventurers will manage to survive.

Fourth period is back to my class.

Today, I handed out new textbooks and started the class.

Everyone was looking at the textbook with a curious expression on their faces, as they had no idea about the ecology of monsters.

“Have any of you ever fought a monster?” (Louis)

Six people raised their hands, and I asked them to present the situation one by one. All of them had not confronted monsters for the purpose of defeating them, but had encountered and fought monsters by chance on their way out. It was only natural, since they had not registered as adventurers.

Moreover, despite the situation in which the nearby rocks and pieces of wood were used as weapons to fight in haste and won by chance. Yet, there were some who thought they were strong because they were lucky enough to win the fight.

“Adventurers have to be able to help ordinary people. To do so, they should not be in a hurry when they encounter monsters by chance, but should exploit their weak points and defeat them.” (Louis)

The textbooks list monsters that G- and F-rank adventurers are expected to fight.

As they advance in rank, they will fight stronger monsters, but by that time, they should be able to at least check the guild’s monster encyclopedia in advance.

I will also tell my students that such a dictionary exists, and I will tell them the same thing repeatedly enough that they will get into the habit of doing so in future classes.

“As a military strategist from a neighboring country to my hometown says, ‘If you know both yourself and your enemy, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.’ If you have information in advance, you can make a proper decision on whether to fight or retreat. It is good to have information in order to plan a strategy and survive, so be sure to learn about the ecology and weaknesses of monsters.” (Louis)

I never thought I would be quoting Sun Tzu’s words in this world.

“Now, it’s a little early to end class, but that’s all for today. As I told you before the break, the dormitories are being built, so let’s all take a tour. After the tour, I would like to invite Principal Sennett to join us for a meal.” (Louis)

At the mention of a dinner party, there was a “wow” and a cheer.

After telling Micah to ask Principal Sennett to join us, we all moved to the dormitory.

The students were surprised at how different it was from the other buildings from the outside.

Other buildings generally have triangular roofs, but this building has a flat roof, in other words, a flat roof similar to other buildings.

I guided everyone inside without paying attention to their murmuring.

As soon as you enter through the entrance, you will see the dining room and common room, and across the counter is the kitchen. There are six stoves in the kitchen and two large sinks for washing dishes.

Past the dining room, there is a restroom with four toilets.

There is another small room with only a window, which can be used for washing clothes or bathing. Of course, the windows are made by Huey in a frosted-glass style.

In the common space, there is a magic stone embedded in the ceiling with lighting magic, which can be used to turn on the lights when necessary, by passing life magic level magic power.

Since there are only rooms on the second floor, Vince, Courtney, and the others cheered when I allowed them to tour each room on their own. I wondered what they were cheering about, but it seemed they were cheering about the skylight and roof window installed in the corridor on the second floor.

“Hey, the sun is shining in the corridor! Isn’t there a roof over it?” (Student)

“No, it’s not! There’s a glass-like roof! It’s so bright!” (Student)

The students were highly impressed with the solid windows and the sunlight shining into the corridors.

And then there is the rooftop.

Since there are no buildings in general that can use the roof, it seems to have been accepted as a very unusual and new building. With the current construction technology in this world, it would be very difficult to use rooftops in this way. After all, it is only possible with Huey’s hardening mucus.

After touring all the floors, I returned to the cafeteria and common room to find that Principal Sennett had also arrived.

He had everyone line up and asked Principal Sennett to greet them.

“Dear students, thanks to Louis, it seems that the adventurer training school has been revived with the same passion and enthusiasm as when it was first founded. As promised, this dormitory will be used by all of you free of charge until graduation. I also heard that today, to commemorate the completion of the dormitory, Louis will be holding a dinner party for us. I would like to thank and give a big round of applause to Louis.” (Bert)

I was a little embarrassed, but I controlled my applause and allowed myself to say a few words.

“Thank you very much. I think that if more students graduate and more people survive, many things will lead to the future, and I’m happy if I can be a part of that. Now I’d like to finish cooking and serve the food, so I’d like all the students to help me, including learning how to use the kitchen. Please help me, including memorizing the how-to.” (Louis)

I was a little embarrassed, so I ended it and went into the kitchen.

I went into the kitchen to finish the dishes I had prepared yesterday.

First, I made paella because it would take a long time. I had already prepared it, so all I had to do was combine the rice and prepared ingredients in a frying pan, cover it with a lid, and let it cook slowly.

For the bread, I put the prepared bread and sliced bread on plates and trays and served them at the table.

The meat is venison that has been aged, so it is grilled and finished with a soy sauce-based garlic sauce.

The salad of fresh vegetables is served in a large bowl with a generous amount of mayonnaise, along with a serving plate.

The drink is the fruit juice water I bought yesterday. The drinks are served in Huey’s special clear cups for everyone.

When the steaks were ready for everyone, the paella was cooked and the dinner party began.

As soon as the party started, I went back into the kitchen, went out the kitchen door, and started baking pizzas in the oven. The oven was in perfect condition, having been preheated during Maggie’s magic.

I added a little more wood to keep the temperature from dropping too low.

The pizzas only took a minute or two to cook, so we kept baking and serving them.

When everyone’s stomachs were full, I announced the end of the dinner party.

It seemed that more than half of the students would be moving out of their lodgings and into the dormitories today.

As we were taking a breather after cleaning up from the dinner party, Principal Sennett thanked us again and asked us if I would like to continue working at the school. I politely declined.

I also asked Principal Sennett about the location of the spirits, and he informed me that there were volcanoes on the Green Continent and the Dragon Continent, and that he had heard there was a very beautiful lake on the Green Continent.

As expected of a nobleman, he had information.

However, he reminded me that since this was about the Green Continent and the Dragon Continent, he had not seen it with his own eyes, and that the information was only rumors that he had obtained from merchants and others.

Still, I could sense the possibility of meeting fire spirits and water spirits in the Green Continent if I was lucky.
