Otherworld Company Chapter 6.3: I’d like to Prepare in Advance for Work if Possible

“Hey, what’s this status even though you haven’t been in the dungeon yet? It looks like you worked really hard during the training. In this case, I see.” (Shopkeeper)

She acted swiftly after she saw the screen of the terminal like the numbers is already hammered in her head.

“I wonder if this, this, and this other one.” (Shopkeeper)

Because she knew the location of the items from top to bottom, she was able to move around without wasting time, and before I knew it, there were several piles of equipment on the counter.

“I can’t buy them all you know.” (Jiro)

She is a shopkeeper and a businesswoman.

If possible, isn’t it the businessman’s duty to sell the most expensive product?

Once you get used to luxurious things, humans tend to avoid inconvenient things.

“Don’t tell me.” (Jiro)

“Look, we giants hate hiding things. It’s better to swear at each other with hurtful words than to hide our feelings.” (Shopkeeper)

That’s why we’re often called a rowdy and savage tribe.

The shopkeeper was laughing, perhaps mischievously, as she said this.

If I think back, the shopkeeper at the weapon shop where I bought the mineral tree I’m carrying on my back also seemed to be quite open about things.

They may have dexterous hands to create such things, but they are quite the clumsy tribe in terms of personality.

“I’ll take this then, okay?” (Jiro)

“Thank you for your purchase!” (Shopkeeper)

What I bought was a gray upper and lower garment with iron plates in it: gauntlets, shin guards, a forehead guard, and a chest plate.

Although the area that uses metal is small, it is still a well-made armor.

“You should be able to negotiate a discount with me if you want to be a regular.” (Shopkeeper)

“Hide it.” (Jiro)

“No.” (Shopkeeper)

I give the money and receive the goods in a big paper bag.

I can joke around with the shopkeeper, and the interaction is refreshing. I wonder if it’s because I’m a resident from another world making her friendly. Still, it makes me want to come back to this store with such a friendly shopkeeper. For now, I think I’ll shop here again.

“When you get some good materials, come and sell them to me. I’ll make you something cheaper than what’s in the store.” (Shopkeeper)

“Sure.” (Jiro)

I waved goodbye to the shopkeeper who saw me off to the store.

I noticed that I had a lump of metal on my back and a large paper bag in my right hand, a weight that would have definitely made me go home immediately in the past.

Unfortunately, however, there are still some things I need to buy.

Thinking about the numbers of my savings account, I opened the booklet with my only free hand and I started walking again to my destination.

“Welcome, what are you looking for?” (Shopkeeper)

First of all, I’d like to say that her complexion is pale, and ask her if she’s fine.

I came to a general store.

In the dungeon, there are many materials that you can pick up for money.

I knew that, but I couldn’t imagine carrying just a weapon on my back and going just as is.

So I came to the shop with a faint hope that there would be a sturdy bag for storing materials, maybe even a magic bag that would ignore weight.

However, as soon as I opened the door and entered the store, I was greeted by a girl who was organizing the items and looked as if she was about to collapse, and I couldn’t say another word.

Her eyes were purple, her side-tailed hair was a light golden color, and her skin was pale beyond white.

When applied to a typical human girl, those are not signs of good health while carrying a cardboard box that seems to be quite heavy.

“Oh, are you okay?” (Jiro)

“Hmm? What?” (Shopkeeper)

“Well, you look pale.” (Jiro)

“Oh, I’m a vampire, so this is normal. I’m perfectly healthy, so don’t worry about it. I’m just wondering if this LED is too bright. Well, it’s a lot better with these blue light-cut glasses.” (Shopkeeper)

When she put down the box, she stretched her lips to the side and showed me her sharp canine teeth.

I saw it and decided to convince myself that although it was uncomfortable for a vampire to be in a brightly lit place, it wasn’t sunlight, so perhaps it was okay.

“So what can I do for you, sir? If there’s none, I’m busy right now, so if you’d like to cool off, please do so elsewhere.” (Shopkeeper)

I wondered why the shopkeeper at the weapon shop, the shopkeeper at the armor shop, and the shopkeeper at this general store could be so direct and clear with their customers.

However, it seems that she is right about the urgency of stocking up.
