If that’s the case, then it’s time to talk about it, but it seems that it’s a different topic, judging from Kaido’s tone.

What comes to mind is either a monster in the shape of a treasure chest or a metal slime that escapes at an astonishing speed.

A decoy and bait?

It’s for blinding them with greed and having the testers rush and chase deep in the dungeon.

It would be foolish to put your life on the line for something like that.

“A stable salary is better than a risky money scheme. It’s time to go to work.” (Jiro)

“Yes!” (Kaido)

The time for such idle chatter seemed to be at an end.

We stood in front of the elevator-like entrance, empty like usual, and fiddled with the console beside it.

And once the settings are completed, the door opens silently.

And then, the hot air with its characteristic muffled humidity touches my skin.

“It’s hot, even though it’s already autumn outside.” (Kaido)

“It’s that kind of place, so it can’t be helped. Think of it as if you were in the Amazon.” (Jiro)

“The opponents are so big that it’s not funny.” (Kaido)

The trees that came into view next were those found in the tropics.

The word “jungle” fits.

Unlike the Amazon of the earth, however.

There are no animal sounds.

Instead, the chirping of insects and the rustling of their wings can be heard everywhere.

“Okay, let’s head west today.” (Jiro)

“I‘m ready to start mapping.” (Kaido)

“Write carefully, will you? Your handwriting is so messy.” (Jiro)

“I wish you would tell that to the enemy. The other day, a strange liquid flew out and ruined the map. At least I was safe and the purchase of materials was higher than average, so my anger has subsided.” (Kaido)

“Then, you have to learn past most of your mistakes the next time.” (Jiro)

“I’ll be careful.” (Kaido)

The materials that can be found in this dungeon can be used to make weapons and armor.

Besides that, there are many materials that can be obtained without fighting, such as sap from trees and honey collected by certain monsters.

This is what keeps us motivated.

“Yeah, let’s go Kaido.” (Jiro)

“Roger.” (Kaido)

We switch our minds and step out into the untamed jungle.

And without entering the bush.

We jump up the trees.

This is an action that comes from our experience that when moving in pairs, rather than in groups, it is better to emphasize mobility than to move cautiously.

Field-type dungeons are much larger than labyrinth-type dungeons.

If we were to slowly explore such a vast area, our time would soon be over.

Therefore, we choose a place where we can get a foothold and move around like this.

Another reason is to avoid insects hiding in the bushes.

However, it is not safe because we are in a tree, and of course

“Kaido, there’s a close enemy. There are two large spiders in front of us. Don’t forget to collect materials and leave immediately after defeating them.” (Jiro)

“Understood. Then I’ll use magic to make the first move.” (Kaido)

“Yeah, I’ll just cut in.” (Jiro)

While I was on the move, I met the enemy.

I see a huge spider with a poisonous pattern on its back.

There are two of them.

I’m sure there’s no mistaking them because both have the same presence.

This time, I was able to get behind the spider, which was about one meter tall and was aiming at prey moving below.

Kaido’s Fireball landed beautifully on its back, and when it lost its balance, I used the Mineral Tree to split it in two.

With the same blade, I also cut off the spider attached to the tree next to me.

No blood spurts out, and the fact that it disappears as magical power means that it is a Soul.

“Let’s move before we get swarmed.” (Jiro)

“Roger.” (Kaido)

The dungeon’s terrifying aspect is its sheer numbers.

You can experience what it feels like to be attacked by an alien army that is larger than the goblins’, with an appetite for predation and a willingness to sacrifice each other.

Making noise and fighting in such a place is nothing less than a cry to call the enemy.

We leave with the spider claws, and the materials, and move quickly.

If you are few in numbers, you cannot survive this dungeon unless you keep a hit-and-run strategy.

I’m glad I learned that early on.

“A Mantis huh…” (Jiro)

“What are we going to do?” (Kaido)

“The materials are not worth it, but the experience is good. We’ll try to take them out for five minutes. If we can’t, we’re moving out.” (Jiro)

“Roger!” (Kaido)

Basically, this dungeon is suitable for growing Magic Crests if you keep in mind to immediately leave an enemy battle.

Machine King Dungeon’s battles take a long time, Undying King Dungeon’s very physically resistant and unsuitable for us, and Ogre King Dungeon is filled with other testers.

Thanks to this, our recent growth has been remarkable.

I am thinking about efficiency while avoiding two large scythes and a mouth equipped with sharp fangs.

I draw its attention and Kaido attacks it from behind.

If I am able to attack it, it will try to attack me, so I try to minimize the risks as much as possible.

“Let’s go to the next one.” (Jiro)

“It’s time-consuming.” (Kaido)

“It can’t be helped.” (Jiro)

I had three minutes to cut off one of the scythes at the base of the shoulder, and once I’d done that, it is no longer a threat, and we easily take them down and move on to the next one.

Avoid the swarms at all costs and hunt those with small numbers.

That’s what we try to do. Today, we were lucky.

We found a honeycomb on the way and succeeded in securing some honey.

Kaido and I were delighted with the unexpected extra income, and we called it a day.

Our dungeon attack today went smoothly, and we returned home without incident.

“Is it wrong for me to feel uneasy about nothing?” (Jiro)

“You worry too much, Senior.” (Kaido)

“I worry too much…Is that so? I’m sorry Kaidou, lately there have been too many bad things happening to me.” (Jiro)

“Senior had a terrible experience when you were on a business trip. How about going for an exorcism?” (Kaido)

“I’ll think about it.” (Jiro)

The fact that day-to-day life is going smoothly without incident, and it feels like the calm before the storm to me, is it just that I’m thinking too much?

Or was it something I had been training for recently whispering to me?

I couldn’t tell.
