Three people running through the Viscount’s mansion–
The Viscount probably didn’t expect us to escape from the window. Since the security in the garden was weak.
However, several soldiers still attacked us. I managed to fend them off and reached the wall of the mansion.
On the side of the wall, Chloe spins around and holds back the pursuing soldiers.
The two of us play our roles in unison. Maybe we’re the best of partners.
So I go about my business.
I see that there is a small tree near the wall, and I use a druidic spell to make it grow.
The tree grows steadily and grows huge in a blink of an eye.
The plan is to climb it and jump onto the wall, but the princess is the one I worry about.
I wondered if she would be able to climb the tree, with her being a picture of elegance, but my fears were unfounded.
“Don’t make a fool of me, Leon-sama. Even if I look like this, I’m from downtown, and when I was little I climbed a tree with the boys.” (Sicily)
She tied up the hem of her skirt and began to climb with a “yes”.
Surprised by her dexterity, I let Chloe climb next.
“I will take over”.
And I take over the battle with the pursuit soldiers.
“I will take care of it.” (Chloe)
“Now that you’re climbing together, I can see your underwear.”
“You’re a gentleman, aren’t you?” (Chloe)
“When you get home, look up the word “gentleman” in the dictionary, and you’ll find that it refers to Leon von Almarsh.”
While I lie, I throw a [Fireball] at the enemy soldiers.
After that, I release my magic, keep my distance from the enemy soldiers, and stand at the edge of the wall after dashing with [Flight] spell.
“I’m not much of a tree climber. I’m a bookish intellectual.”
The princess hugged me. She knows I’m going to cast a [Float] spell. Chloe also hugged me.
“Chloe is not afraid of heights like this, right?” (Sicily)
“Your Highness it’s not fair you know. I also want to feel fluffy, once in a while.” (Chloe)
“Well, there’s nothing for me to lose, though.”
When I say that, I hold the two beautiful women and jump off the wall.
A sun-kissed princess with golden hair on her right hand, and a pretty maid with black hair on her left.
Not even the successive heads of the Almarsh family would have been able to embrace two such beauties.
In that sense, I might be a very dutiful child of my ancestors.
While thinking about such trivial things, I turned my back on the Viscount’s mansion and ran to the place where I had promised to meet “Her”.
~3rd Person Perspective~
When Viscount Wagner learned that they had let Princess Sicily, her strategist, and her maid escape, he was so furious that his mustache quivered.
“I will personally lead my troops to capture them!” He said.
The private soldiers, knowing the Viscount’s inability to command, did not unanimously agree with him, but if the Lord was going to lead them, they had no choice but to go.
“Where did that little girl escape?” (Wagner)
The Viscount asks.
A soldier answers.
“Not very far.” (Soldier)
Then the scouts report back.
“We caught sight of Princess Sicily on the outskirts of town.” (Scout)
The Viscount hears the report and grins.
“So this is the extent of a woman, no a child’s legs?” (Wagner)
The Viscount orders the soldiers.
“I’m heading out of town with the cavalry, but I’ll give a hundred gold coins to those who capture Princess Sicily, thirty gold coins to those who kill the strategist, and ten gold coins to those who kill the maid.” (Wagner)
Hearing these words, the soldiers’ morale rose, but as expected of the Viscount’s private army, his subordinates had no sense of “Morals” or “Chivalry”.
“Viscount, aside from the princess, we can do as we please with that maid, right?” (Soldier)
The Viscount answers.
“I‘m afraid to do anything with the princess of a country, but if it’s her maid, you can do as you please.” (Wagner)
The private army who heard the words rejoices, “Yeah!”.
The Viscount made a vulgar joke.
“But that maid looks pretty strong. Be careful she does not bite off your family jewels.” (Wagner)
The soldiers laugh along, but their unpleasant laughter stops.
They didn’t suddenly awaken morals. They found their prey ahead.
“Looks like they’re fighting my soldiers.” (Wagner)
“It seems that a separate team has cornered them.” (Soldier)
“Nice work, troops. There’s nowhere to run.” (Wagner)
“Yes, sir. My troops are organized with cavalry, but infantry are coming after them one after another as reinforcements.” (Soldier)
“Hmm, a perfect plan. Well, I don’t need reinforcements, but come on, charge the cavalry! Use your sabers to behead that soldier!” (Wagner)
“Don’t kill the woman!” added the Viscount’s second-in-command and laughter leaks, “Hahaha!”.
The cavalrymen obeyed the order precisely.
They charged at Leon and his men in perfect formation and fell straight into a pit. Not a single cavalryman missing.
――They are swallowed by the mouth of the earth that suddenly opened.
The Viscount, who was able to stay behind and avoid falling into the hole, shouted,
“What is this?” (Wagner)
Leon responds immediately.
“It’s a pitfall. Are aristocratic men unfamiliar with those?”
“So, that’s a stupid pitfall? You use such a simple-minded trick like that!?” (Wagner)
“The simpler the trap, the better. Look at your men, they’re all knocked unconscious by the beating.”
The men had indeed all been knocked to the ground and were unconscious. Some of the men’s necks were bent in the wrong direction.
How did they make this pit? It had only been a dozen minutes since they had escaped from the house, the robed magician replied.
“I dug this with the [Mining] spell. I asked a certain woman to help me find a place with soil that was easy to dig in advance.”
“… Damn, damn, damn. How treacherous.” (Wagner)
“Treacherous, isn’t it? It’s the best compliment for a strategist.”
“But don’t feel like you’ve won. You’re being surrounded. Soon you’ll have infantry coming up from the rear as reinforcements.” (Wagner)
“Well, that’s great.”
“Then”, he continues.
“We’ll just have to run out of the city, won’t we?”
“That’s no use. We just received word that Kerich-sama is leading an army into the city. He is on his way to destroy the rebels and bring peace by order of His Majesty the King.” (Wagner)
“Kerich going out on his own? That’s out of my calculations.”
“That’s right. Two divisions, ten thousand soldiers, we kill all the rebels.” (Wagner)
Hahaha, he keeps laughing.
“That’s bad. Of course, we’ll be killed too, won’t we?”
“Of course, now that you know the other side of the rebellion.” (Wagner)
“Yeah, I guess you robbed the people to bribe Kerich, and the angry masses rose up in revolt.”
“It’s a little different because Kerich-sama wants to succeed to the next throne. And we’re not robbing the people, we’re collecting it as a legitimate right of the nobility.” (Wagner)
“I hear some old men who starved to pay taxes and sold their daughters.”
“Of course. They were born to serve me. If they can’t pay their taxes, they should hang themselves. Women should stand on the street corners.” (Wagner)
“That’s disgusting. Does Kerich know about this? Does he know that the money is stained with the blood of his people?”
“Of course, thanks to that, we’re able to persuade the investigators from the Royal Capital, and they have sent troops this time as well. In the first place, the mastermind was His Highness Kerich.” (Wagner)
“I see. Therefore, both the bribe giver and the bribe receiver were scum.”
“It’s not a bribe. It’s just paving the road to open up my future with gold.” (Wagner)
“Oh, but that golden road may have seen its end.”
“Did you go crazy? You are cornered.” (Wagner)
When the Viscount said this, Leon was surrounded by infantry.
It seems that the infantry came as reinforcements.
“It was unexpectedly fast.”
Checking the soldiers around him. There are a hundred soldiers. As expected, if there are that many, neither Leon nor Chloe can do anything.
“This is the end of your life. Now, cry and beg for your life. Kneel and ask for forgiveness while eating dirt.” (Wagner)
The Viscount says with a nasty face. He then orders Chloe, “Get naked and dance.”
Chloe says with a cold expression, “You’re an irredeemable prick.”
“ What, you’re not going to beg for your life? Oh well. Then you’re going to die here. If you hate me, hate your own curiosity. If you hadn’t infiltrated this city and exterminated the rebels as you were ordered, you wouldn’t have died.” (Wagner)
“However”, the Viscount continues.
“In any case, those who defy Kerich-sama will not live. Even if the rebels had been crushed, the princess would not have had long to live.” (Wagner)
Then the Viscount stares at Sicily.
Sicily looks back, but she doesn’t open her mouth. She knew that her trusted military strategist was about to do something.
Leon raises his right hand to meet the expectations of the princess.
“Now, let’s finish the farce. Winifred, you can come out.”
That said, Winifred comes out of the shadows with something like a big machine.
The Viscount was surprised by the strange appearance of the machine.
“What, what is that machine, and what is that girl?” (Wagner)
“What, the Viscount doesn’t even know what a recorder is?”
“A recorder!?” (Wagner)
“That’s right. A relic of an ancient magical civilization. No, I think the dwarves have recently succeeded in developing one.”
Looking at the Winifred, she added.
“That’s right. This model is the latest model from Earth Industries.” (Winifred)
“It’s a little big to be the latest model.”
“They have succeeded in making it fifty percent smaller than the previous model.” (Winifred)
“That’s great, that’s why a half-elf reporter can carry it.”
The half-elf reporter nodded.
“What…!? Is that girl a reporter!?” (Wagner)
“Yes. She is a reporter for the Sun Elfism newspaper.”
“Sun Elfism!?” (Wagner)
“Yes, it’s the biggest newspaper in the country, with one of the biggest circulations. It is competing for the first and second place in this country.”
Winifred proudly says.
“That’s what I am talking about. I’ve recorded all your conversations since you came here.” (Winifred)
Viscount Wagner paled and began to tremble.
