~3rd Person Perspective~
Around noon, Dirk and Bud and his party at [Faguilded].
The four of them first head to the Explorer Guild.
The guild was crowded with people.
This is to submit documents for renewing the contract with Bud’s party.
When they arrived at the counter, they were greeted by a receptionist who unenthusiastically looked at them.
She looked over the paperwork, and when she saw their names, she said, “Hold on a minute,” and went into the back.
Bud had a bad feeling about this, so he talked to Dirk.
There is currently no adventurer’s guild on Vista Island.
So they have to go to the adventurer’s guild in the nearest town to complete paperwork and report.
“Dirk-san this feels like something is going to be a little troublesome.” (Bud)
“Yes, I feel that way too.” (Dirk)
“It’s okay because there aren’t many stupid people who will cross me.” (Bud)
“That’s right. Since I am affiliated to the [Blue Holy Beast].” (Dirk)
“Oh yeah, we won’t let them push you around, but we should still be careful.” (Bud)
“Thank you very much, Bud-san, Carl-san, and Tryst-san. But if you are put in danger, you can run away. If something happens to you, I can never face that person.” (Dirk)
“What are you saying. Do we look like unreliable friends? If we meet a problem, we should think more about it at that time.” (Bud)
While they were talking about that, the receptionist came back from the back.
Bringing along some paperwork.
“Dirk-sama. Thank you very much for your patience. This is the renewal permit.” (Receptionist)
“Thank you. Then…” (Dirk)
“Ah, and this too. There is a huge delay here as well due to the dispatch of explorers, the preparation of requests, and the documents that ongoing healer request for the merchant’s dispatch.” (Receptionist)
“Hah …” (Dirk)
“Therefore, there is a lot of damage to the Faguilded, so it is said that Kiddish-sama would collect for compensation.” (Receptionist)
“!!!!!!?” (Bud & Dirk)
“Hey! I’ve never heard of that! That’s something that doesn’t matter to them at all. We shouldn’t have anything to do with you!” (Bud)
“Yeah! You’re lying! I’ve never heard of a claim for compensation.” (Dirk)
“Ah, I wonder what it is about. I’ve just been told.” (Receptionist)
The sudden demand for compensation had thrown Dirk for a loop.
He has never had a case like this before.
It’s not impossible, but if they do it, the people living here will revolt.
Normally they wouldn’t do that, but Kiddish had done it anyway.
His territory has not yet gotten off the ground and is not yet functioning as a city.
Therefore, Dirk must transact with the city of Faguilded.
Dirk wondered if they had come to completely destroy him.
“Well, how much is it…” (Dirk)
“Hey! What are you thinking about Dirk-san?” (Bud)
“It’s a million lira.” (Receptionist)
“That’s nonsense! You can’t ask me to pay a million lira while I’m currently developing Vista Island!” (Dirk)
The receptionist simply said that without moving one eyebrow.
“If you can’t pay, it’s said that you can pay for something else. For example… your wife.” (Receptionist)
“… !!!” (Dirk)
“Hey… I don’t think that’s the true purpose, right?” (Bud)
“What are you talking about? I’m just saying exactly what was told to me says.” (Receptionist)
“You must be crazy! This is not normal.” (Dirk)
“I don’t want to be told that. I’m just a receptionist for the Explorer Guild because I have no power.” (Receptionist)
She looked at the four people with a nasty gaze.
It looked as if she was having fun.
“I’m going home, Dirk-san!” (Bud)
“Then, I’ll just hand over the documents. I’ll be collecting them back in a week, so please collect them properly.” (Receptionist)
“It’s a big difference between similar races.” (Tryst)
“Similar race? Don’t compare me with a lower race. Are your eyes holes? Dark Elf-san.” (Receptionist)
Tryst with rage-filled eyes was about to hit the receptionist.
But Bud stopped her.
Combat in the guild is illegal.
“I’ll just tell you something but we’ve already found a healer, so there’s nothing more for us here on Faguilded. Now all you have to do is send the documents to a place outside of the city and we can build up our own guide and guild. I’m sorry you had to go through that, you little bastard!!” (Bud)
“Yeah you’re a dumbass! We’ve found a healer!” (Tryst)
“Ah, we got impatient! You thought we couldn’t find one? That’s right because you guys are putting pressure to stop us.” (Carl)
“That’s right. You’re just a receptionist. I wonder if this blunder has nothing to do with you? So I hope you’re worth more than this.” (Bud)
“Oh, it’s impossible… that’s stupid…” (Receptionist)
“Then, I’ll pay you back in a week. By that time, we are no longer related to this city, hahahahaha.” (Bud)
The four of them left the Explorer Guild.
Then, they got on the carriage and leave Faguilded.
As soon as about 10 minutes passed, Bud was panicking while wiping his sweat.
“Yeah. This is a big problem!” (Bud)
“What’s wrong, Bud? The healer you’re talking about is Kaoru! Our lives are going to get extinguished.” (Carl)
“Oh, I’ve just gone with the flow! Now there’s only regret! Tryst, do something about Kaoru with your charms!” (Bud)
“What a terrible thing to say! But I was refreshed after giving that comeback, but after this, we have no choice but to despair. What are we going to do!?” (Tryst)
“Let’s calm down for the time being. Let’s take a deep breath for now, okay?” (Dirk)
“”””Suu… haaaa…”””” (Dirk, Bud, Carl & Tryst)
The four took a really, really deep breath.
They had a strategy meeting while driving the carriage with a slightly calmer atmosphere.
“I’m not confident that I can report this situation to Kaoru and live.” (Bud)
“Well, it might be easier to just accept it? … I’m sorry I couldn’t imagine anything else. The moment I said it, I could only imagine Carl buried into a tree.” (Tryst)
“Why am I being sacrificed? This isn’t funny? Tryst Do you hate me? Hey, do you hate me?” (Carl)
“He was reluctant when I first asked him to do this, and he seemed to have a completely different reason for accepting. So I don’t think he’ll accept this situation.” (Dirk)
“”We’re dead. There’s only despair in the end.”” (Dirk, Bud, Tryst& Carl)
The four sighed.
They never thought it would make them feel so depressed when they returned to Vista.
The four returned to Vista Island, hoping that their lives would not be forfeit.
